THREE PARENT BABIES NOW ALLOWED
Babies of the future could have a mum, a dad - and another mum.
Britain has become the first country in the world to allow IVF babies to be created with DNA from three people.
UK politicians have voted in favour of the idea, which is aimed at stopping serious inherited diseases being passed from mother to child.
The idea is that the child would have "nuclear" DNA which would determine traits like facial features and personality. from the mum and dad, with a small amount of mitochondrial DNA from an anonymous woman donor.
Not everyone's a fan though. Doctor David King from the group Genetics Alert says there's worry it could lead to designer babies. " We could end up in a world where we are changing our children's genes to make them taller, more athletic, more intelligent."
